Laura Bell Bundy is an American actress and singer born on April 10, 1981 in Lexington, Kentucky. She took great interest in singing and dancing at a young age, and began to take up classes at the Town and Village School of Dance in Paris, Kentucky. She began to act in regional theater at the age of nine. Soon after, she graduated at the Lexington Catholic High School.

She began acting professionally in 1993. She starred in the off-Broadway musical “Ruthless! The Musical.” She later returned in 2002 and made her Broadway debut in the musical “Hairspray” as Amber Von Tussle. She gained praise for her work as Elle Woods in the stage adaptation of “Legally Blonde-The Musical,” and eventually she received a Tony Award nomination for her role as Elle Woods.

Among her most recent stage work include the musicals “The Sound of Music” and “Rock Age.”

Laura Bell Bundy is also a film and television actress. She appeared in films such as “The Adventures of Huck Finn,” “Jumanji” and “Life with Mickey.” She also appeared on the movie adaptation of “Dream Girls” in 2006 as a member of the girl group “Dave & the Sweethearts.”

From 1999 to 2001, Laura Bell Bundy starred on the CBS soap opera “The Guiding Light” as Marah Lewis. She also appeared in the TV series “Modern Men,” “Happy Hour” and “Veronica Mars.” She also had parts in “Strangers with Candy” and “Cold Case.”

Laura Bell Bundy is also a singer. She has a country music album, Longing for a Place Already Gone,” and is working on her second album. She also had concerts with fellow actresses Eden Espinosa and Lea Michele in “Broadway Chance Style Up Close and Personal Concert.”

Among her most recent television credits include becoming a judge of the 2009 Miss American Pageant.
